Introducing Youthfully’s Interview Simulator

A Game-Changing Tool for Canadian University Admissions

Every year, more and more Canadian universities rely on video interviews and timed written assessments to evaluate applicants. Programs like Waterloo/UofT Engineering, UBC Sauder, Western Ivey, and Queen’s Health Science now use platforms such as Kira Talent and Launchpad to assess how students think, communicate, and perform under pressure.

For families, this has created a new challenge… How do you help your student practice effectively when it matters most?

Until now, practice happened only during coaching sessions, and even then, coaches and parents had limited visibility into how students were performing on their own. Students wanted to practice more, but didn’t always know what to practice, how to structure it, or whether they were improving.

This fall, we set out to fix that!

A New Way for Students to Practice Anytime, Anywhere

We’re excited to introduce the Youthfully Interview Simulator, a tool designed to give students realistic interview practice, actionable feedback, and confidence-building repetition between coaching sessions.

The idea was simple: If universities evaluate students through timed video interviews, then students need a way to train in the exact same environment… just like athletes prepare for competition.

The result is the most advanced interview training tool available to Canadian high school students.

How It Works: Realistic Practice, Real Feedback, Real Improvement

The Interview Simulator includes two complementary modes, each designed to build a different skill set and mirror the actual admissions process.

The first mode is called Lightning Practice, built for rapid skill development. Students are presented with the types of questions they can expect from top programs and are given the same preparation time as the real platforms allow.

Once they record their response, the simulator evaluates it using a 5-point scoring system and provides AI-generated feedback, including what went well and specific areas to focus on.

Behind the scenes, the system analyzes visual confidence, answer relevance, and vocal clarity… breaking each of these down into more precise metrics so students can track their improvement over time. It’s the perfect warm-up tool, letting students get in quick reps between coaching sessions.

The second mode is the Mock Assessment. An exact replication of the real interview experience. The interface, timing, recording flow, and pressure closely match what students will see during their actual admissions assessments. Unlike generic practice tools, our simulator is trained on the rubrics universities actually use to evaluate.

After the assessment, students receive a detailed breakdown of their performance across every rubric category, giving them clarity on how actual admissions evaluators might view their responses.

In other words, students no longer have to guess whether their interview went well. The simulator shows them.

Where AI Practice Meets Personalized Coaching

While the simulator is powerful on its own, the real magic comes from how it integrates with Youthfully’s 1:1 coaching.

Students now get unlimited practice on their own time, and coaches get visibility into those attempts between sessions. Instead of spending half a call warming up or trying to remember past answers, coaches can review actual clips, analyze metrics, and give tailored guidance based on real data.

Parents benefit, too. They finally get transparency into how often their student is practicing and how their performance is improving over time… something that was nearly impossible before.

The result is a dramatically more efficient and effective preparation process: students practice more, coaches coach more precisely, and families feel more confident in the student’s readiness.

Why This Matters More Than Ever

In today’s admissions landscape, interviews carry significant weight; often equal to or greater than the written application. A polished, confident, well-structured video response can lift an application; a hesitant or unfocused one can undermine even the strongest grades.

Most students only complete a handful of interview practices before submitting their real assessment. Youthfully, students now complete twenty, fifty, even one hundred high-quality reps… each one scored, analyzed, and improved upon. This type of deliberate practice is what separates an average response from an admissions-ready one.

A Powerful New Value Add Included for All Youthfully Students

The Interview Simulator is now included for every student working with Youthfully. There is no additional fee, no upsell,  just a tool designed to give families more value, more visibility, and more confidence as they move through the admissions journey.

It’s the most advanced interview preparation tool available to Canadian high school students, built specifically for the programs they are applying to, and grounded in the same evaluation criteria real admissions teams use.

Most importantly, it gives students something priceless: the feeling of walking into their real assessment with confidence.

If this feels like the support your student needs: structured practice, expert coaching, and real clarity, don’t wait!
